It is easy to travel hundreds of kilometres quickly, safely and worry-free if you know where to turn. Thanks to its professionalism and experience, the Czech airline, JetBee, is ready to meet the many wishes of its customers. In addition to the convenience of private air transportation, it also offers advice on aircraft purchase and subsequent maintenance. Veronika Stůjová, Commercial Director of this private airline, lives with planes every day and really knows a lot about them.

1) How long has JetBee been operating on the Czech market?

The company was founded 14 years ago on 8th October 2010. We started with one 17-person L410 propeller plane used mostly for various skydiving meetings. Having obtained our Commercial Air Transport Licence in 2016, we now fly jet aircraft throughout Europe, England, West Asia and North Africa.

2) How can an interested person secure a flight with you and how long after the order can he depart?

For the client, the process of ordering a flight is a matter of a few minutes. After entering the basic information – departure, destination, date and number of passengers – we immediately give him a tailor-made price offer. When the client confirms the details, the contract is issued and signed. If the aircraft is available at the place of departure, the flight is possible within 2.5 to 3 hours after signing the contract. The only restrictions are airport opening hours and time slots, which are allocated throughout Europe. And good weather is also important.

3) What destinations do your clients choose most often? Are there any that have surprised you as Sales Manager?

Among the most frequent destinations are London, Paris, Nice and, in our operation, of course, Prague. Italian cities and Greek islands are popular in the summer, and especially Malaga in Spain. In the winter season, on the other hand, ski resorts in Switzerland and France are leading, e.g. Chambery Airport is very popular, which requires special training, which our crews have, the same applies to Innsbruck. Rather than being surprised by a destination, I’m happy when an airport that we haven’t been to before pops up, or one that we don’t fly to that often. Unusual airports include, for example, airports in Norway and Finland. For instance, this year we visited Kokkola Airport. Rovaniemi, located just below the Arctic Circle, is also very interesting. It is known as the Santa Claus Village.

4) In addition to your business function, you are also Security Manager. What is your focus in terms of this work?

Among others, my job is to analyse risks from the perspective of passengers and their luggage. An example is pets, when for example only two dogs that are used to each other can be transported at the same time. As Security Manager, I am also responsible for the monitoring and controlling of internal processes that relate to both ground and flight personnel.

5) How big is the JetBee fleet and how do the aircraft differ?

We currently have four Hawker 400/ Nextant 400 planes. They carry up to 8 adults; however, for greater comfort, we recommend up to 6 passengers. For example, planes can fly directly on the route from Prague to Malaga, to Antalya, London, or to Paris. It always depends on how many passengers are flying, what their composition is (man, woman, child) and what the weather is like, especially whether there is a strong headwind. We fly mostly at heights of 11 to 12 km, i.e. above large airliners, at a speed of around 800 km/h.

6) Is it also possible to purchase an aircraft from you? What does it take besides finance? For example, do I have to pass any flight tests?

As an operator, we mainly ensure the operation of aircraft, and of course we will also be happy to help with the purchase of a new machine. What is important to us is whether the client wants the aircraft for personal use or as a commodity in which he wants to invest capital. If he intends to pilot his plane, he must have a valid pilot’s licence and therefore also to pass flight exams.

7) Aviation machines are beautiful works of art, but the layman will judge only a fraction of the quality of the purchased aircraft. At JetBee, can you advise on the comparison and suitability of the technical parameters of an aircraft that would be worth buying?

Yes, with pleasure. We first consider all the client’s requirements. Comparison and technical specifications of aircraft are very important. We have experts in our team who will carefully go through all the parameters with the client, so that the selection meets his requirements and needs.

8) Which aircraft can the customer actually choose from with you? And can he have it parked in your hangars?

A client interested in purchasing an aircraft can choose any aircraft that is intended for civil service. The most famous brands include Cessna and Embraer, while one of the most prestigious is Gulfstream. As part of operating the aircraft, we of course provide for both its maintenance and hangar parking.

9) Do you offer any additional services for purchased aircraft?

Yes. Buying the aircraft is just the beginning for us. The machine needs to be properly taken over from the manufacturer or the previous owner, including comprehensive documentation, and must be registered in the Aircraft Register. This also includes physical inspection of the aircraft and its inclusion in the technical database. Individual parts are checked either by time (each part has a clearly prescribed lifespan) or by hours flown. Of course, the plane will not take off without pilots, whose training we also provide on a regular basis.

10)  You are constantly surrounded by work and planes. So what do you do to relax? What are your indulgences…

I really enjoy literature and culture in general – theatre, musical performances, exhibitions... Another great passion of mine is travel – I like to get to know foreign countries, their culture and specific atmosphere. I also enjoy gastronomy – this is my great hobby not only abroad, but also here.
