Šumava is full of various cottages and chalets. But one of these – a wellness hotel – stands out in many ways. The name ‘Chalupa’ is mainly due to its Alpine appearance. In the interior, however, there is perfect comfort and, especially, a large swimming pool.
The Šumava village of Prášily has been experiencing its modern prosperity since the 1990s. It is accessible from Srní, Hartmanice, or by turning off from the main road to Železná Ruda. It used to be cut off from the world, so the village boasts beautifully preserved natural surroundings. And fine accommodation as well. The new Wellness Hotel Chalupa is situated directly opposite a private botanical garden. The modern wood-filled building includes above-standard double rooms and two-bedroom suites containing 4 beds. Each room has its own en suite bathroom with shower, and a minibar, safe, TV, WiFi and private balcony. Guests’ cars may be parked in the Hotel’s guarded parking lot. The great advantage of the Hotel is its own wellness area. The swimming pool attracts visitors by its size of 18 x 9 metres, as well as the 12 massage jets, counterflow and massage spout. The heated bench, Finnish sauna and steam cabin are also pleasant. To refresh oneself, there is the experience shower with jets, spout and cooling bucket.
Šumava and especially Prášily offer a wide range of outdoor activities. One can undertake long or short excursions to see the natural beauties, both on foot and by bike. Hiking trails lead to, for example, Laka Lake, Prášilský Lake and Mount Poledník with a lookout tower (1315 m). In winter, one can enjoy the nearby ski slopes and various cross-country ski trails. However, Prášily village itself also offers many attractions, which is perhaps why the area is called Prášily Paradise. A private botanical garden is located right next to the Hotel. Don’t miss observation of the bisons and the opportunity to test your dexterity in the Rope Park. Those who enjoy horse-riding will be rewarded with a pleasant ride on a Haflinger horse, which originates in the Tyrolean Alps.
Helena Hons Valtrová, General Manager of The Emblem Prague Hotel, reveals the intentions of the Emblem Places group in an interview. She also talks about the individual approach to guests and reveals how the combination of modern technologies and tradition can create a unique atmosphere.
East Tyrol, which has long been considered the Cinderella of Tyrol, is definitely worth a visit. If only because it is not overcrowded with tourists. The Germans don’t have it within striking distance and therefore prefer the closer winter resorts around Salzburg or Innsbruck, and the Dutch and Scandinavians don’t have an airport there.
Nature in its purest form, these are the Jizera Mountains, which are among the most unspoilt in our country. A place of rest and a base for adventurous expeditions in the mountain landscape are to be found in their midst. Welcome to Královka!
