The brand of Krug Champagne has been a symbol of a unique taste experience since 1843. This is further multiplied when combining a glass of Krug Grande Cuvée or Krug Rosé with various dishes. For this reason, a challenge is announced every year, during which culinary masters have the task of creating the most interesting recipe to go with this delicious beverage.

A Gastronomic Experience

In recent years, the focus of the Single Ingredient project has been, for example, potatoes, eggs, mushrooms or fish. But this year a new theme was chosen: Flowers. 'Edible flowers in the kitchen increase the aromatic expression of the combination, producing completely new flavours and unexpected aromas. They offer chefs a blossoming spectrum of diversity, adding subtlety and a touch of the unexpected to every culinary creation,' says Julie Cavil, Krug Cellarmaster.

International Chefs Create 137 Original Recipes

The shapes, aromas and flavours of flowers are very diverse, so leading Chefs of the Krug Embassies were able to use their creativity and art to the full. Thanks to them, a series of culinary experiments was created, which is recorded in the exclusive cookbook 'All for One and One for All'. It captures a total of 137 recipes with a 'flower' theme that perfectly matches the taste of Krug Champagne.

Dill with Fragrant Dill Flowers

Recipes inspired by the Single Ingredient can be enjoyed by gourmets at Krug Embassies  worldwide. They are also to be found in the Czech Republic: The Eatery in Prague's Holešovice is where Chef Pavel Býček and his team have prepared a special menu for guests paired with Krug Champagne. He elaborated the 'flower' theme in the form of a dish called 'Dill with Fragrant Dill Flowers'. Come and discover what traditional Czech food tastes like in an original presentation.

East Tyrol, which has long been considered the Cinderella of Tyrol, is definitely worth a visit. If only because it is not overcrowded with tourists. The Germans don’t have it within striking distance and therefore prefer the closer winter resorts around Salzburg or Innsbruck, and the Dutch and Scandinavians don’t have an airport there.
