Prague is a popular destination for tourists, but it is also a centre of trade and financial transactions. And even though there are plenty of office buildings in the "Hundred-spired Mother", as Prague is sometimes called, it is much more convivial to have a business meeting or lunch in one of the pleasant cafés or restaurants. One of these is as if created specifically for such business meetings by its original concept and location. This is the "W" Restaurant & Whiskey Bar.
“W” for Whiskey
Although "W" Restaurant has a simple name, it is still mysterious to some. However, upon entry, the thousand bottles of Whiskey exhibited in the display cases will immediately make the name clear. In this restaurant with a rich collection of the famous alcoholic beverage, excellent Mediterranean gastronomy and a bar are combined in an atmospheric cellar interior with vaulted ceilings.
Venue Imbued with the Past and Present
Marek Jablonský, the owner of "W" Restaurant, searched in Prague for a long time for premises to provide the club atmosphere in which Whiskey tastes best. He found this symbolically in Prague's Jewish quarter in the Old Town's Maiselova Street. He brought the "W" Restaurant concept to Prague from Tel Aviv, Israel, where his colleagues had already been running a similar restaurant for quite some time. The Prague establishment is also distinctive, due to the interesting division of the basement area, which made it possible to create a bar in the shape of the letter "V".
Quiet Location for Agreeable Meetings
Similar to the Israeli company, Marek Jablonský's dream came true, and in a short time "W" Restaurant established itself as a popular meeting place for business partners and important personalities. Naturally, this is not only contributed to by the relaxing atmosphere of the interior, where time can be spent away from the hectic pace and where the necessary privacy is provided, as well as a vast selection of beverages and excellent cuisine.
Taste of the Mediterranean
Even though "W" Restaurant is located in the heart of Europe, the aroma of popular Mediterranean cuisine pervades. Here, juicy beef steaks from Argentina, the USA, or from genuine Czech breeds are prepared on a charcoal grill. The fish specialities, such as Tuna Steak with Wasabi Potato Puree or Salmon Fillet with Potato Fondant and Beetroot Cream are also excellent. Vegetarians will also be at home here, as the menu items are really delicious, among which are favourites such as the superb Roasted Beetroot Carpaccio. Finally, guests should not miss any of the unusual desserts with a Whiskey flavour, such as The Smoked and Whiskippy.
Not Only Whiskey
In addition to Whiskey, "W" Restaurant is also home to extraordinary wines. From their wide selection, the Israeli wine is definitely worth mentioning. In addition, the red Yarden Rum is a perfect complement to the local steaks. Of course, the cocktails are also excellent – not only those based on Whiskey, but also on Gin and Vodka.
Among Colleagues and Friends
"W" Restaurant is also perfectly organised for corporate events. The environment imbued with the spirit of Whiskey can accommodate up to 142 guests, has 2 lounges and a quality audio/video system. It is one of the few restaurant spaces in Prague to boast a separate VIP entrance, providing the maximum discretion for selected visitors. And, thanks to Club membership, 10 % of the total bill will be returned to guests in the form of a credit.
